Brogan's update

well starting from the beginning, a couple of days ago, I had to call 911 because Brogan suddenly lost his ability to walk and control is facial muscles. They rushed us to Banner Desert where at first they told us that it is a scorpion bite. When they ruled that out, they told us it could be carbon monoxide poisoning or a severe ear infection. Nothing really made sense until they did a cat scan and came in to tell us that he had a "major head trauma" and his brain was bleeding. At that point they rushed him to Phoenix Children Hospital where CPS and 2 police officers were waiting for our arrival due to an "unexplained head trauma". This may have been the longest night of my life! CPS took Vance away and placed him under my parents care all while we were in the ICU waiting on a neurosurgeon to examine Brogan. They told us that he had to have an MRI because it would tell us more about the bleed. As soon as an anesthesiologist became available (to put him asleep for the mri) they got him in and soon came back with the results... Good news! There was absolutely no sign of any bleed or injury. (all this of coarse after a priesthood blessing!) I was thankful that the the Dr soon had CPS on the phone to tell them that this had all been a misunderstanding. Anyways...while I was happy that there was no bleed, I was still upset that my child Can't walk, has No balance and is drooling all over the place! At this point the Doctors really don't know what is going on. They are calling it Acute Cerebellar Ataxia. It is a neurological disorder that 90% of kids recover from with in a couple weeks. Yes I know the whole story doesn't make sense and I wish it did! He is doing a TON better but he is still in the hospital. Phoenix children hospital is so great! The make a wish foundation came around today with Goofy and Tiger to handout balloons and it was so cute to see bro's face light up when they came in the room. Bro is so strong and I know he will fully recover from this! I am so thankful for my husband and the priesthood. I love that I have a worthy husband that can bless my kids in time of need! Thank you for all the help and prayers. I will post again when he gets home and when things settle down.

Posey- this could be the scariest story I've ever heard! Kids are durable and Brogan will recover. I'm sure you're exhausted. You guys are in our prayers of course.

Posey, that is so frickin scary. I started tearing up when I read this. It's so sad that we live in a world where parents out there really hurt their own kids. Thank goodness your boys are blessed to be in a home with loving parents and the priesthood. Good luck on the road to recovery.
